Welcome to the Carsharing Association

A Hub for Carsharing Leaders

The Carsharing Association (CSA) is a member-based organization that supports the growth and advancement of carsharing and our members and focuses on raising the profile of the positive impacts of carsharing.

Our Purpose

To serve as a galvanizing force in the carsharing industry, uniting carsharing operators and stakeholders to drive the environmental, social, and economic benefits of carsharing by serving as a trusted resource and catalyst for the industry. We support member organizations with best practices, tools, and industry knowledge to drive sustainable transportation solutions.

We do this by:

  • Resources: Providing carsharing operators and members with information about news, analysis, research and best practices through our social network, resource library, webinars and members’ chats.
  • Gatherings: Providing opportunities for virtual and in-person gatherings with stakeholders (e.g., municipalities, shared mobility providers, suppliers, NGOs, funders) to engage, discuss, learn, collaborate and create awareness.
  • Cuts corporate fleet costs
  • Mobility perks improve work-life balance
  • Fewer single-occupancy vehicles mean less need for expensive parking infrastructure

How to engage: Offer carsharing as a workplace benefit, support corporate carsharing programs

How to engage: Request carsharing to be placed on your residential and commercial properties and offer memberships as an amenity.

  • Extends trip range beyond micromobility limits
  • Increases mobility options for abled bodies.
  • Supports multimodal networks in areas with limited coverage

How to engage: Offer bundled mobility options, enable app or pass integration for seamless user experience, and coordinate on parking or mobility hubs to expand reach and convenience for micromobility users.

  • Carsharing + Transit is the ideal combo

How to engage: Partner and strategize with carshare operators for optimal coverage

Incentive: Reduced transit passes for carshare users

  • Reduces congestion & emissions

“The Carsharing Association is where thought leaders, doers, and advocates across the mobility ecosystem come together to drive meaningful change. By connecting operators, city and transportation planners, vendors, researchers, and the public, CSA fosters the kind of collaboration that helps evolve transportation systems to better serve our daily lives. We’re proud to be part of this community that believes, as the saying goes, 'It takes a village to raise a child'!”
